identifying competitive advantage

again salam and hi everyone. what i suppose to write or story to uolss? uolss pulak. haha. ohh okay last week we had finished learn chapter 2. so now it's my responsibility to summarize what i understand. hihi.

competitive adv are typically temporary. there are competitive adv, first mover adv and environmental scanning. competitive advantage which is the organization or company will make product or service in greater value. they also make product/service which is similar to their competitor and of course must meet customer demand.

first mover advantage, the organization where they are the first company who produce the service/ product. so they have the advantage to put higher price on that. third is environmental scanning, analysis of event and trends in the environment external. maybe they can do some promotion outside the mall.

now i would like to explain a little bit about the five forces model. first is buyer power which mean customer have the right to buy product or service that they willing to pay. second, supplier power. supplier can give impact to the price they are charge. there have process called supply chain. supplier --> organization --> customers. threats of substitute product or service will become high when there are too many alternative that customer can choose and vice versa. last but not least is threat new entrants. threat new entrants will be low if it's hard and have too many barriers to enter the market and vice versa.

  • rivalry among existing competitors
